A stone temple of a peculiar type is that 0f Chandra-shekhara the
Moon-crowned Shiva, at Saho. It is surmounted by a sloping slate
roof, evidently 0f modern date. The two remarkable figures, howevcr,
on the both sides 0f the entrance bear out that tile body of the
building is ancient. We shall see in the sequel that an early
Sharada inscription, discovered at the adjoining
village
of Sarahan, presumably records the foundation of the
saho
Temple. |
