            Tattapani Spring that Heals

The topography of Himachal Pardesh ranges from the hills in the
lower Shivalik valleys to the lofty mountains extending up to the
borders of Tibet and Ladhak . This wide difference in altitude from
350 to 6,975 meters above sea level leads to marked variation in the
climate at various parts of the state.

Tattapani at a comparatively moderate altitude, offers a variety of
attractions, especially to those in search of rest, recreation and
            soft adventure.

Commence your exploration with a visit to Tattapani 51 km from
Shimla and 28 km from Naldera, famous for its 9-hole golf course,
set amid picturesque surroundings. Situated on the banks of the
Sutlej, at a height of 655 meters Tattapani is famous for its
springs whose curative and invigorating properties attract people
            from far.

The largest of Himachal Pardesh's rivers the Sutlej springs from the
Tibetan highlands near the Mansarovar Kailash lake. There is not one
but many hot springs all of which get sub-merged when the river
waters rise. Like Manikaran in the Parbati valley of Kalka the
existence of so many hot springs on the banks of a river with icy
cold water is one of Nature's marvels.
            In
May June the temperature climbs above 35 , although the mornings and
evenings are pleasant. For the rest of the year Tattapani has a
bracing climate. Sitting by the river, one can enjoy the cool breeze
and communicate with nature. At Tattpani don't forget to visit the
Shiva caves, 3 km away. |
